The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, generosity,
kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Galatians 5: 22-23
Do our words and actions reflect these fruits?
Our new school year has got off to an excellent start. It was great to see the
eagerness of the children as they returned last week and quickly settled in to
the school routine.
THANK YOU
To all those parents and
caregivers who have been so prompt in paying for their childrens
stationery it is much appreciated. We ask that all payments are made by 26
February please. All children have received their stationery and are now using
it.
Health and Consent
Forms
Each child will receive a Health and Consent form today (green paper).
For the Health and Safety of your children we need to up-date this information
every year.
These forms are kept in class sets in the office for easy reference.
We need one of these forms completed for every child
including New Entrants, even if you filled one out at the time of enrolling
your child.
Please complete these forms and return them to class
teachers
by this Friday 12
February.
CLASSROOM SAINT NAMES
All our classes are not
only referred to by number, but also have a Saints name.
In
keeping with the special Catholic character of our school, we are reminded of
these people who have gone before us, who in a very special way, have lived a
love of service for God.
During the year as part
of the Religious Education programme the children learn about saints especially
the one after which their classroom is named.

SCHOOL FEES
The accounts for Term 1 school fees came home last week
$87.50 per child per term. Some parents find it
easier to make automatic payments of smaller amounts every week rather than one
lump sum. If you would like to make school fee payments in this way, please
contact the school office or Mrs Avenell in the school library for our bank
account details.

GALA DAY Saturday 20 March
Our annual Gala day is
fast approaching. Keep your eye out for the weekly gold newsletter.
This week we need empty
glass jam jars and glass sauce bottles so we can have jams and sauces made to
sell at the Gala. One of our parents has kindly offered to make these for us.
GALA meetings are now being held weekly Mondays at 7.30pm
in the school staffroom.
Anyone is most welcome to join us. This years money is going to purchase new
sports uniforms for our sports teams.
PARKING
NEAR SCHOOL.
We have been informed by
the Manukau City Council that due to rising complaints regarding illegal and
dangerous parking at schools in our area, the Councils Parking Services will be
doing regular school enforcement patrols.
Parking officers will no
longer be asking parents/caregivers to move vehicles from illegal parking areas,
but will instead be issuing infringement notices in respect of the offence and
will then post tickets out to the registered owner of the vehicle. Likewise,
cars stopping or parking on the yellow lines or the footpath, in our carpark
will have their registration numbers forwarded to the Manukau City Councils
Parking Services.
The council has informed
us that if drivers continue to endanger our children they risk incurring the
following fines:
Parked on the
footpath/grass verge $40
Double parked $60
Parked on a
broken yellow line
$60
Parked on or near a pedestrian crossing $60
Parked in a bus
stop $60
Parked across or within 1 metre of a vehicle entrance
$60
Please choose
legal, SAFE parking over convenience at all times.
Our childrens
safety is paramount.
