Enrolments

Thank you for considering St Anne’s Catholic Primary School for your child’s education. Starting school is an exciting time for both tamariki and whānau. When enrolling a child, parents or caregivers are required to complete and submit an enrolment form.

Preference Enrolment

For preference students, parents or caregivers must obtain a Preference of Enrolment Certificate signed by the Parish Priest of their Parish.

The criteria for the preference certificate is as follows:

  • The child has been baptized or is being prepared for baptism in the Catholic Church.

  • The child's parents/guardians have already allowed one or more of its siblings to be baptized in the Catholic faith.

  • At least one parent/guardian is a Catholic and although their child has not yet been baptized, the child's participation in the life of the school could lead to the parents having the child baptized.

  • With the agreement of the child's parents/guardian, a grandparent or other significant adult in the child's life, such as an aunt, uncle or godparent, undertakes to support the child's formation in the faith and practices of the Catholic Church.

  • One or both of the child's non Catholic parents/guardians is preparing to become a Catholic

Non-Preference Enrolment
State integrated schools have places for non-preference students. St Anne’s has a maximum of 31 places.

Non-Preference places criteria:

  • The applicants accept that they will be attending a school of special character and that their place in the school is conditional on their participation in the programme.

  • The applicants accept that they will be required to pay attendance dues as set by the Proprietor and these are not voluntary.

Non-Preference criteria that apply to this school.

  • The siblings of non-preference students already in the school.

  • Siblings of former non-preference students.

  • The children of staff or Board members who seek to enrol their children.

  • Non-preference students coming from another integrated school with the same special character.

Non-preference students who cannot enrol immediately may choose to be placed on a waiting list. Students on this list are wait listed by date and number and will be contacted if places become available. At the end of the calendar year the list is removed and people apply to be reinstated on the wait list for the following year.
